Dental Implants
What are dental implants?
A tried and tested comfortable option for missing teeth!
A dental implant is a small titanium crew that is placed in the jawbone and over time fuses with the bone. Once stable the implant can form the base for a crown, bridge or denture to be placed.
Why do I need a dental implant?
Dental implants provide a predictable, comfortable alternative to replacing missing teeth as opposed to a removable denture. They are designed to mimic the function of natural teeth as closely as possible and are a popular way to restore the functionality and appearance of your smile.
What to Expect During a Procedure.
-
Case Assessment
As implant placement is a surgical procedure, your case is assessed for suitability to be completed in the practice or referred to a specialist oral surgeon.
-
Implant Placement
The implant is placed surgically using a guided surgery method and with the aid of 3D x-rays. The implant is then left to heal and integrate into the jawbone.
-
Impression
A digital or conventional impression is taken of the implants once osseointegration is complete. This is to aid in making of the final restoration.
-
Placement
The final crown or bridge restoration is placed on the implant.
